Here are the books stacked on my desk, piled on my bedside table, weighing down my bag. Here are the books I’m reading all at once, a chapter at a time, at night or at naptime, listed in no particular order:
- She Got Up Off The Couch- Haven Kimmel
- Pushed: The Painful Truth About Childbirth and Modern Maternity Care- Jennifer Block
- The Comeback: Seven Stories of Women Who Went From Career to Family and Back Again- Emma Gilbey Keller
- How To Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk- Faber and Mazlish
- The House on Mango Street- Sandra Cisneros
- Small Wonder (essays)- Barbara Kingsolver
- Fit Family: The Infant, Toddler, and Preschool Years- Heidi Hill
Not to mention The New Yorker (April 20th issue with Big Ben and the Taj Mahal on the cover), Poetry Magazine’s March and April issues, and my husband’s 75-page Masters Thesis that I’ve promised I will edit.
When will all these tomes be read? Not while I’m blogging…
