Home Sick

December 3rd, 2009 by Diana

A with book A. is home from school.  She caught the throw-up bug from C. and is running a little fever of 100.2.  Her cheeks are flaming pink and her skin hot to the touch.  Other than one watery vomit at 2 am, she is animated and full of energy as usual.

Perhaps more so, since she ate FOUR Gingersnaps for breakfast and has the playroom all to herself to make Christmas presents for her relatives.

(See homemade “book” in photo, which has since been wrapped up with construction paper and half a roll of Scotch tape for her Uncle Topher).

A. is thrilled to be home with Mommy, even though I am trying to WORK and meet several writing deadlines.  As long as I administer to demands for tape, paper, and art supplies, we can share the house in harmony.

More peaceful than a 2-year-old monster running around, dumping out baskets of toys and bowls of yogurt, raiding the spice cabinet and leaving a trail of Paprika across the rug…  These days it seems all I do is yell “NO, C!” or some variation on that theme.

Now I pray I don’t get the stomach flu, since I’m teaching a YOGA WORKSHOP on Saturday!
